Week 7 Report - Not a victory in sight
Tuesday 22nd October 2013

The firsts were due to face Civserv, but their div 2 side folded early in the week. The Over 35s had a bye in the County cup, and the other 3 sides managed 2 draws and a defeat between them.

Darren Woodcock The seconds hosted Collegiate at Buckley Hill in the reverse fixture from the opening day of the season. In poor conditions Coeur made the majority of the running creating several good chances before Degsi steered a Rob Phil layoff into the top corner of the net. Te second half was mainly Coeur pressing forward and they eventually doubled their lead when Darren Woodcock cruised past 5 Collegiate players before slamming the ball home. With 10 minutes to go Coeur pressed the self destruct button. Firstly a miscued clearance fell to the forward who fired it past Kev in goal. Just minutes later some lacksadasical play saw the ball robbed from Coeur and Collegiate grab a equaliser at the second attempt. Coeur went down the other end and hit te bar, but couldnt get the winning goal that their performance deserved. The result sees Coeur slip to 4th in the table, when a victory would have seen them top!.

Ray Crierie The thirds also faced Old Xavs at Heron Eccles in a repeat of last week's encounter. After the 1-1 draw last week it appeared that the 2 sides would contest a tightly fought match, and so it transpired. 'Ray' Crierie was on the scoresheet for Coeur, but it was mainly down to the heroics of goalkeeper Neil Oldfield that Coeur came away with a point. The result sees Coeur miss the chance to close within a point of Old Caths at the top as they also drew this week. Coeur stay 2nd in the table

Mike Roach The over 40's travelled to Huyton to face St Allys 40s at KGV playing fields. Coeur had the better of an action packed first half and led 4 -3 at the break thanks to a Mike Roach hat-trick and another goal from Ian Dee. After the break it was a different story as St Allys found the net a further 3 times with Coeur failing to respond. The over 40's remain in 9th in the table on the back of the defeat.
