Week 2 Report - All five sides gain points this weekend
Monday 16th September 2013

After last week's false start both on and off the pitch, it was time for all five Coeur sides to take to the pitch.

Josh DalyThe first team travelled to Jericho Lane where they faced Alumni. Alumni had won last week but the firsts set about their task with a steely determination and gave Alumni a tougher test. Phil Steele opened the scoring before Jonno produced another scintilating run which saw him carry on his fine goalscoring form from pre-season. Josh Daly then produced a thunderbolt from 30 yards before Chuk managed to fire home..... in his own net. A good start which sees Phil's side 4th in the table

Craig LiggettThe seconds were away at Collegiate and played on the East Slope at Holly Lodge. The first half was an even affair which saw both sides waste decent chances. Coeur took the lead when Craig Liggett fired home after a good pass by Degsi. Poor defending led to a speculative shot which nestled into the top corner of Jack's net, levelling things up. The second half saw Coeur create the majority of the chances, but poor finishing meant that the game ended level, when the 3 points were there for the taking. Si's men are 6th in the fledgling table

Andy KinsellaThe thirds hosted Civserv at Buckley Hill looking to bounce back from last weeks defeat. Chris's men played well throughout with Andy Kinsella scoring twice to take his tally to 3 goals in 2 games. Jay Boardman also grabbed a brace which saw Coeur lead 4-1. Civserv pulled a goal back to provide a slightly more uncomfortable finish to the game than needed be, but Coeur held on to earn a well deserved victory and move up to 5th in the table

Omar WilliamsThe Over 35s travelled to Gateacre to face Netherley Vets with both sides looking to get their first point after opening day losses. In an end to end game with plenty of chances, it fell to one man to take all of Coeur's chances. Omar Williams managed to score four times in his first start of the season. John's side move up to 7th on the back of the 4-4 draw.

Gary BrennanThe over 40's had suffered a heavy defeat last week, but this Saturday saw them handing out the punishment. Buckley Hill was the venue and opponent Cafe D'Art were beaten 5-0 thanks to goals from Mike Roach, Mike Coyle, Deano (2) and a belter from Gary Brennan. Deano's men are now up to 8th
