What date and where that is the question.

We need to get this organised so we can contact manager, players and all so we can get everyone signed on nice and early. The first team season starts on Saturday 15th August and they have pre-season friendlies on 4th & 8th in that competition organised by Remyca.

I would suggest we need to hold this over the weekends of 11th -12th July or 17th - 18th July.

Venue - playfootball ? or anywhere else that has enclosed 5-a-side pitchs that is local enough

I just spoke with John Watson @ Lifestyles Everton, Great Homer Street, Liverpool, L5 5PH, 0151 207 1921.
As I wasn't sure what to ask for regarding times etc, I asked for 12 midday till 4PM for a Saturday in July and he gave me a rough quote of £60 per hour (which is reduced from £99) for all 3 x 7 a side pitches. We would obviously have to book it fairly quickly to reserve this.
For those who have never played there, they have 3 x 7 a side pitches (which are OK for 6 a side as well) and 2 x 5 a side pitches, which I think are fairly small.  All are astroturf.
Main problem here is the lack of a room / bar for a screen for connecting Si's laptop to for results and fixtures etc, but at least you have an idea of costs...

We have discussed this recently and we said that as we couldn't get Bootle then we would possibly use Gorsey Lane if we get a pitch there.

So depending on a decision this week (hopefully) we will know.

I would be against using Gorsey Lane.

No pitch markings, no barriers, goals ?

Games would be a nightmare with the ball spending more time off the pitch than on.

i think for £100 the civil is reasonable and it has the facilities on site for si's computer.
I agree with flanny that we need to sort the date out asap the earlier in july the better

I think you'd get more turning up at the civil than anywhere else.

Points well made guys - Civil Service seems to be the option.

What's the latest date we can have without impinging on the first team friendlies.
When do the 2nd's finish their tournament and if they are still playing do we need to sort out times that don't clash.

Also, we need to try and make sure that there isn't a kids party on in the bar - as it is useful to have access.

If we can agree on the date then we'll start preparing....... and how much is it going to cost?

3rd weekend in July (18th & 19th) suits me best if possible?
I presume we are opening it up to 'outsiders' again, as I can bring two teams if needed?

Outside teams always welcome Dave.
Hopefully we can get a decent turnout and have a good afternoon

why has it gone up £70 any ideas?

Prices have gone up @ playfootball generally anyway for five a side. So despite the increase we are getting it at at a 25% discount.

Just bear in mind thta if we get 40-50 lads playing then it will be between £4 to £5 on top of the £10 signing on fee.

Otherwise we make a loss - which isn't the idea.

Unfortunately I think we have to just bite the bullet with the civil and go for it. Flanny offer them £150 and see what they say?
Also are we getting the big room as well?

Finally, I cant do the weekend of the 17/18th so my preference would be the 25th July.

My preference would be the 25th becasue we can have the room.
(Even though it is my Birthday!!!!!!)

Do we get it normally for three hours?
If so, do we say 12 till 3 or 1 till 4?
How many pitches are we getting? - two 5-a-sides?

If we get it sorted asap can I suggest that we contact the team managers to put in 2 teams each squad and then invites. Need to have 8 or 12 which makes running it easier.

Then we need to talk about:
Cost per player
Signing on forms
BBQ (food, BBQ, Gazebo, chef etc)
Format
Medals
Video / Photos
Any other fundraising we can do on the day??

I have emailed Paul Dobson asking which room it is and that we would be the 25th from 1pm - 4pm (i;m in Scotland 18th/19th and possibly not mobile 25th as probably having knee op that week). We could book for two hours I suppose and so reduce cost. BBQ may be difficult as they have the snack bar doing things like that at the back don't they.

Maybe we need to have a committee next Tuesday 14th.

Alright chaps

The 25th would be best for us - we finish the summer league 8th August but we have some young legs playing so if we got an 11 0'clock KO that day we should be alright for a 1pm start and we will easily get two teams although are chances of retaining the trophy will be slim!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the 25th is the weekend of choice.
Flanny, can you give them a buzz and book it?

Okay Gents....

Saturday 25th July 2009 12.30 at playfootball (Civil Service). Pitches are hired from 1 till 4.
Need at least 8 teams, hopefully 12.

£25 per team to enter. (Teams of 5,6 or 7)

£10 signing on fee to be paid on the day and signing of league forms.

Post here if you can get a team - I'm thinking at least two 5-a-side teams per team (squad)

Let's get there and get the season off to a flyer !!!!

I will submit 1 team and a mate of mine (Neil Hall) will submit another.

Is it the same cost for external teams who wish to enter?

Dave it is £25 per team irrespective of whether they have 5,6 or 7 players.
Also it is the same for all teams, whether they are Coeur players or not.

All the lads signing on for the club will be expected to pay their £10 signing on fee for the season as well.
