Congratulations to Paul Flanagan, the winner of this years "BEST CLUB SECRETARY IN THE LIVERPOOL OLD BOYS LEAGUE FOR ALL FIVE DIVISIONS".

I was priveleged to be invited to the AGM tonight as a replacement for my Manager Si Furlong (who is in Cork for a pi** up with the lads).  After the speeches by the board members and head of referees, the trophies for winning the leagues, cups, fair play awards and best ref of the year where handed out.  Once that had finished, he announced that our very own Paul Flanagan had won this coveted (and thoroughy deserved) award!

You are obviously doing a fantastic job.  Long may you continue.......

Great news Flanny.

Must have been a flawless effort by you this year, because it is normally handed out to someone who is on the Old Boys committee or helps them out with the books orsomething like that.

Well done mate and it's got to be said we wouldn't have been able to win trophies over the past couple of seasons without all your 'unseen' work.

By the way, how long did Dave's acceptance speech go on for?

Si, you'll be glad to know that I let Paul take all the glory.  To be fair to him, he did ask me to go and collect the trophy but I sat down and kept quiet for a change, just taking it all in

I like the way I wasnt asked to go.

Though I think I have been banned from ever attending anything to do with the LCFA, except appeals against sending offs

Andy it was due to the fact that you have more aliases than Ethan Hunt when it comes to dealing with the LCFA.

Andy Rannard

Andy Radford

so on so forth.

You did extremely well restricting yourself to only 5 yellows this season. Maybe you should have gone after all?

Talking about yellow cards, the team that won the fair play trophy, didn't have a single booking all season!!!!!

I couldn't believe it.  Can't remember who they were though......

.....probably any team without Andy Ra(dford)nnard playing for them.

Only kidding Andy. (At least you didn't manage to get a RED this year) - eh Mally.

Dave, a few seasons ago our side managed to go over 18 months without a booking yet never won the fair play award.

I would hazard a guess that the team who won the fair play award this year got a fair few beatings on the pitch though. Quite often the case, which made it more astounding that we never won it that year without any bookings cos we were sh*t
