Sacre Coeur's 2nd Annual 5-a-side Competition is being organised again this summer.

Hopefully the venue will be playfootball (ex-Civil Service) again - we are just waiting for confirmation. Saturday 12th July has been penciled in for the date, again just waiting on confirmation.

However, we need to know who's up for it and how many players are going to be available.

Can you let us know (on here) if you wish to manage a team of Coeur players or even if you wish to bring a guest team along. If you just wish to play and don't have a team - then let us know and we'll try to organise it for you.

Click onto Social Pages/ Annual 5-a-side/ 2007 to see last years event and teams (and the dodgy names).

It would be great if the same team could play again. (and Sporting Aldi to defend their Crown)

Liam,
I have 2 external teams who have already agreed to take part again this year.
Do we have any idea of cost per man / per team yet?

Slight confusion here Craig, Moyes' barnet is Orange, where as it's you sunbed skin that's orange mate. You could both do with a decent pan of scouse though.Wink

See you there mate. May even make an appearance myself this year and do a 'Deano' on you.

Talking of Deano injuring people, did everyone hear that he made a mess of Mike Smith's hooter last week, with the pointy part of his elbow??

Mike wont be able to make it tonight after Deano's vicious thuggery.
I wont be able to make it either (wedding anniversary) so will try and get hold of the beast that is Deano, so he can pick up the cash and the balls on his way.

Will do.

Saying that I think they need it for 7:15 when the 5 a side starts, rather than the half seven-ish that you and Hatton turn up at

No worries Chris, round a few of the others up (Grego's etc) and we can sort a team out. This is when we collect the signing on fees, so tell everyone to start saving up now

I have setup a form that will need to be filled in on the day.

If you have a team sorted already, it will be helpful if you could print the form out and fill it in and then bring it along on the day.

http://www.sacrecoeur.co.uk/Docs/5aSide/5aSide.pdf - Printable Form

Alternatively you can enter your side online and we will bring the printed form along with us.

http://www.sacrecoeur.co.uk/Docs/5aSide/Entry.asp - Enter Online

Cheers

Si

PS. Kits will be available on the day, so colours can be filled in later if needs be.

Many Thanks to all of the players (Sacre Coeur and Guests) who turned out for yesterdays 2nd Annual 5-a-side competition.

By all accounts it was an enjoyable day with many thanks being given to the organisers by the lads involved. (I only say by all accounts because I didn't get there until quarter to 4 - and it started at 2pm).

My sincerest thanks go to the following people.

Si Furlong - Webmaster/ score official etc. etc.
Mike Smith - Referee and getting his dad to do the burgers.
Jenny (and Leah) Furlong - Selling the burgers (and Photographs)
Mr BBQ Smith - For cooking the burgers and sausages.
Flanny - for sorting the venue/ trophies and refereeing.
Deano - for supplying the barby.
Jenny & Mrs Smith - For organising the food.

The lads/ girls who put up the Gazebo.
The lads who made the event enjoyable.

and me for turning up with a couple of hours to go, taking photos and giving the trophies out. WinkTongue

There's footage of the final, we'll have to get Andy Gray and Hansen in to go over Flanny's refereeing decisions

Only messin Flan, I thought you called it fair and square. Tim's team were worthy winners.Clap

Quote of the competition was Baxy whinging to Flanny about John Whelan backing into him (again and again) and Flanny shouting, "It's not my fu**in fault that he's stronger than you!"
Can't wait to see that on video  ;-)
Goal of the competition was by Mike Carr, just after he received a smack in the mouth from John Whelan (yes him again!) and in anger he had a shot from a yard outside his own penalty box and it FLEW in!!!  Screamer!!
