What date and where that is the question.

We need to get this organised so we can contact manager, players and all so we can get everyone signed on nice and early. The first team season starts on Saturday 15th August and they have pre-season friendlies on 4th & 8th in that competition organised by Remyca.

I would suggest we need to hold this over the weekends of 11th -12th July or 17th - 18th July.

Venue - playfootball ? or anywhere else that has enclosed 5-a-side pitchs that is local enough

I just spoke with John Watson @ Lifestyles Everton, Great Homer Street, Liverpool, L5 5PH, 0151 207 1921.
As I wasn't sure what to ask for regarding times etc, I asked for 12 midday till 4PM for a Saturday in July and he gave me a rough quote of ú60 per hour (which is reduced from ú99) for all 3 x 7 a side pitches. We would obviously have to book it fairly quickly to reserve this.
For those who have never played there, they have 3 x 7 a side pitches (which are OK for 6 a side as well) and 2 x 5 a side pitches, which I think are fairly small.  All are astroturf.
Main problem here is the lack of a room / bar for a screen for connecting Si's laptop to for results and fixtures etc, but at least you have an idea of costs...

We have discussed this recently and we said that as we couldn't get Bootle then we would possibly use Gorsey Lane if we get a pitch there.

So depending on a decision this week (hopefully) we will know.

I would be against using Gorsey Lane.

No pitch markings, no barriers, goals ?

Games would be a nightmare with the ball spending more time off the pitch than on.

i think for ú100 the civil is reasonable and it has the facilities on site for si's computer.
I agree with flanny that we need to sort the date out asap the earlier in july the better

I think you'd get more turning up at the civil than anywhere else.

Points well made guys - Civil Service seems to be the option.

What's the latest date we can have without impinging on the first team friendlies.
When do the 2nd's finish their tournament and if they are still playing do we need to sort out times that don't clash.

Also, we need to try and make sure that there isn't a kids party on in the bar - as it is useful to have access.

If we can agree on the date then we'll start preparing....... and how much is it going to cost?

3rd weekend in July (18th & 19th) suits me best if possible?
I presume we are opening it up to 'outsiders' again, as I can bring two teams if needed?

Outside teams always welcome Dave.
Hopefully we can get a decent turnout and have a good afternoon
