Probably county with wrong name.
LCFA cups are as follows
Challenge Cup - Step 7 leagues (ie County Premier League Premier Divison, West Cheshire)
Junior Cup -all other 1st teams
Intermediate - reserve teams

Whats the problem anyway we won and are in the last 8

Interesting points eh?

Some football notes....

Pretty even start to the game both teams getting to grips with a swirling wind.

John Carragher scored after 8 mins with a deft chip Wink off the post from inside the 6 yard box managing to miss the defender (on the post) and the keeper (on the line). 1-0

Penlake equalised (18 mins) after the ball evaded the defence via the swirling wind and the attacker nodded home. 1-1

On 25 minutes Penlake missed a glorious chance when a Penlake attacker found hmself all alone 6 yards out and managed to head the ball against the post. Big%20smile

A long throw, flicked on by John Carra was duly dispatched past the keeper via a big Dunc overhead kick to make it 2-1 at half time. (Grasshoppers are still filling in the hole LOLWink)

The second half saw Coeur take complete control of the game, Penlake resorting to the long ball game which just didn't come off. Coeur decided to step up a few gears and play some neat decisive pasing football. (Sounds good doesn't it?).

A good passing move saw the ball at the feet of John Carra on the right, as players stormed into the box expecting a cross, the ball was cut back outside the box (25-30 yards) to the awaiting Pete Spelly. Who, without moving, killing the ball instantly and with no backlift, unleashed a 30 yard 'arrow-like' shot to the top of the far corner. A momentous finish. You could read the 'mitre' logo on the ball all the way. Star 3-1

I will have to go on record and state it was one of the best finishes I have seen at Civil Service (playfootball). Clap

Anyway back to the game.
Within minutes of the third goal, a through ball was flicked on (I think by John Carra) to Cherry who lobbed the keeper for the fourth. 4-1
Cup Tie effectively over.

Roachy went through near the end and slotted the fifth calmly home. 5-1

Must mention the referee...
I though he had an excellent game.
He was only 17 but it didn't show, explained himself well and didn't shirk any responsibility.

Great result..... roll on the 1/4 Finals ... bring it on.
