Five goals enough said, quality

After playing and beating top of the league easily last week, this week against bottom was a chance to give some of the lads who havent been playing as regular a run and they didnt let themselves down.

With horrendous winds losing the toss didnt help which made playing the first half difficult to play into, not many bright moments from the half we made a lot of breaks but didnt make the correct decisions when to release the ball and when we did didnt make the most of it.

The only goal of the half fell to us, Danny released round the back of the Rhein defence, and smashed a superb finish giving the keeper no chance.

half time 0 -1

We knew with the wind behind us for the second half we would get more chances but had to try and keep it down and play more. Straight after half time Rhein knocked a ball over the top, Cockney Rob forgetting Neil doesnt come off his line tried to shield the ball for Neil to come out and collect it, needless to say confusion Rheined (see what I did there)   giving the Rhein forward a chance, Neil come out and slid in and kicked the ball clear unfortunately hitting it into one of our players and the ball remained in our area for the Rhein player to knock it over the stranded Neil into an empty net (Greenpeace were called and Neil was quickly back between the sticks).

Cockney Geezer Rob or Chaz n' Dave as he is known to his Southern fairy mates quickly made up for the defensive error, he lifted a lovely ball over the top from the back which the fox ran onto and smashed low past the Rhein keeper. Goals 3,4 and 5 all come in pretty quick succesion, one being a good interception by Peter which took the ball past the keeper, Danny got ahead of Peter to complete his hat trick.

Peter come off for Lynchy, the fourth goal was a great finish from outside the box by Danny and the Rhein team slowly wilted away, Richie come off for Cav and Danny completed his goal tally of 5 with a fantastic chip. Gary then come on for Danny to give us a 451 for the last 30 minutes.

I think most of the best balls came from the defence knocking it over the top which Danny made the most of. No major points to note from their we had plenty of possesion Andy came close with a few shots but the game was seen out comfortably.

Nice win boys and im sure on another day if the wind hadnt been as bad and we passed a little sharper we would have got double figures, with Rhein again this Saturday we will have another chance to smash them lets hoping we do. With Danny out we will need to use our possesion wiser but im sure with the quality we have that wont be a problem.

TWAT OF THE MATCH - Dave Mortimor, comedy of errors stopped him turning up for the game
