In a game in which the defence didnt deserve to conceed 4 goals, Dave was back to his solid best and lead by example

Well I ended the last match report saying it would be our last defeat unfortunately I was wrong but unlike last week we battled hard and didnt deserve to lose.

Coming out of the changing rooms into the heavy rain to see Civserv warming up properly and running around cones didnt bode well as I looked around to see half the team huddled round Andy Kin having a fag and the other half throwing Gav to one another (not to warm up just because its fun) I was a little worried.

Gary thought the same and made a last minute plea to go on the bench in replace of Chris (I later found out it was because of the black Chris had on Gary was the real reason he offered)

Civserv started off well but we got stuck in and had few nice breaks, like last week we conceeded an early goal, it came from a Couer break Danny in possesion at the edge of the Ciserv box and still learning to pass,  he played one to Lynchy but played it straight to the Civserv defender who hoofed it over the top, Rob Phillips couldnt get his head to it and the Civserv attacker got round the back. Gary did great to cover and I thought he had done enough to slow the attack down, but the Civserv attacker composed himself and slotted neatly into the bottom left hand corner.

It didnt take us long to get back into the game, before we did Danny had a great chance one on one with the keeper, but still practising his passing did a lovely pass, unfortunately it was straight to the Civserv keeper.

A throw from the left hand side saw Andy Kin nod it back to me who with Mark Pembridge vision lofted the ball over the top which ended up falling into the path of Danny who finished (Danny said he didnt want the goal as he it took a deflection, if that was me I would have took that all day and so goal for Danny)

Civserv got back in front a Lynchy sliding tackle caught the player within shooting distance, a good free kick was taken and it was inch perfect just falling under the crossbar, nothing the cat could have done and we were chasing the game again.

Again not long before we scored and it was the fox once again, a lovely ball from Dave over the top, Danny got onto it and did great to finish. With confidence growing I thought their would be only one winner at this stage. Chances came either end though but neither team could score before half time.

half time 2 -2

The second half seen us get 2 penalties and we should have had 2 more, both pens were given against fouls on Danny when his quick feet  caused the keeper and a defender both take him out. The keeper took him out another time but that wasnt given and a handball on the line from a Danny shot was also not given, even their player said he could believe it hadnt been given.

Danny stepped up for the first pen and hit low and hard straight down the middle, the keeper dived to his right but saved it with his legs. The second pen Andy took it, struck it well to the keepers left but he guessed right and saved well.(Andy said it was his first ever penalty miss, and after the last game seeing his first ever red card, next week should be fun as he is still a virgin, cant wait for that first!)

We were playing so well, some great attacking play from Rob, Richie, Lynchy, Andy and Danny I thought it was only a matter of time before we got the goal we deserved. Richie did a great run down the right beating half the team but couldnt get the finish needed.

I heard Chris whisper to Gary on the sideline something about posting "THAT VIDEO OF HIM AND A FARM ANIMAL" on, then Gary insisted in going off to give Chris a game. Chris went right mid, Richie went left and Rob Cav went left back. Both teams continued to have chances and through good defending and poor finishing neither team were able to take the lead. With 15 minutes to go I went off for Martin, Martin stripped off from all his warmest JACAMO clothing and went to the right wing and Chris came into the middle.

A Civserv break saw the attacker get a good shot off and the cat did great to get down and save it for a corner. The resulting corner saw a Civserv player winner the header and headed it to another Civserv player who nodded in easily. We tried to push forward and continued to create chances but with 7 minutes remaining a break down the left gave Civserv the 2 goal lead it was going to be hard to come back from.

full time 2 - 4

Dispite the defeat, im more upbeat this week as we created so many chances and should have won. The ref even said he didnt know how we had lost the game at the end and I overheard their team saying they had been battered by us in the second half and they were lucky to win.

Conceeding 9 goals in 2 games is not like us but with players still settling in the team will do better and im confident this small blip will be over in no time. With Peter, Neil, Fran and Jay to come back (I wont mention Sean in the report in case he gets the arse with me) competition for places is strong and once the balance is found we will be flying im sure.

TWAT OF THE MATCH - Gary Bourne - insisted on coming off for Chris which changed the shape of the team at 2 -2 (Gary, Peter said to nominate you for this)

BREAKING NEWS ..... Just watched the footage on dont look it up its just nasty!!!!
