Strange game. Goalkeeper failed to materialise, Centre forward stuck in Wales. Two players late, because they were late.
Match......oh nearly forget.Old Xaverians took lead after twenty minutes. Should have gone further ahead when player, about ten yards offside raced through to find John Pollard in scintillating form. John made a fantastic save to deny Old Xaverians free kick, but from the resulting corner Old Xaverians went two up.
The addition of James Stephen made no difference. Then Rob Philsikirk developed a knee problem and Chris Woodall came on at right half, which is without doubt his better position as a good cross showed late on. At two-nil the referee had a mental breakdown. He gave a goal to Sacre Coeur (which probably was offside) but having pointed to the centre then decided to disallow the goal. While Coeur tried to fathom that decision Xavs scored a third, which effectively finished the match, despite Polard's heroics.
Thank God for a break next week.
