After last weeks heavy defeat at Old Xavs, Coeur started this game at lighning pace, looking to arrest the slump in their recent form. Within the first 5 minutes Coeur could have been 3-0 up but all the chances went begging. Degs missed a great opportunity after 2 minutes, when he was composed and took his time to pick his spot, tragically the spot he picked was just over the bar.
Minutes later Liam McIllvenna saw his prodded effort rebound of the woodwork, before being hacked away. Leyfielf then escaped going behind again when a fizzing drive from Ste Alty also scraped the wrong side of the upright, this after a brilliant powerful run created th shooting opportunity.
With 15 minutes gone Leyfield hit Couer on the counter attack and poor marking left a player alone six yards out to nod the simplest of chances into the net and give them the lead, totally against the run of play. Coeur looked deflated and found it difficult to lift themselves. The remainder of the half saw few chances for either side, but in truth Leyfield were begining to run the show.

The second half proved to be one of the worst halves of football Coeur have produced for years.
Leyfield attacked at will and seemed as if they had an extra man on the pitch, as they passed the ball well without and real pressure.
Despite all their dominance, Leyfield still only led by one with 10 minutes to go. It was then that Coeur's defence was breached and the floodgates opened as a further 3 goals gave the scoreline a truer reflection on the game.
It can be something of a cliche, but had Coeur managed to convert one or indeed 2 of thier early chances, the outcome of this game could have been very different. However, they didn't and ca have no complaints whatsoever at the result as the performance, especially in the second half, was poor.
