Peter Devlin

Peter was working and could only make the 2nd half, he came on at half time and with his usual high energy, bagged a hatrick in 45 mins, the pick of which was the 1st one as he ran half the pitch riding a few tackles before scoring past a stranded keeper

Another win for Sacre Couer a strange game to say the least, we didnt get out of the starting blocks for the first 20 minutes which resulted in their centre mid scoring a 25 yarder from a cleared corner. But the lads did great to pick themselves up and battle back which resulted just before half time Danny Pimbley getting himself into a great position taking around one defender and slotting nicely past the keeper to put us back on level terms. One all at half time, Christian Taleb who had been threatening to be sick all first half asked to come off resulting in a change around of personnel with Peter Devlin slotting into the middle and Rob Cavendish going on the right wing. Peters extra energy caused uber amounts of trouble for Alsop and resulted him running the whole of their half riding a couple of tackles before slotting nicely past the keeper. Alsop at this stage continued to pressure and as normal the defence held strong, with Clarke and Mckweon in the middle winning countless headers and tackles whist the fuullbacks Lea and Brannigan contained the Alsop wingers. Any real chances that came Alsops way were long shots and free kicks outside the box which Neil Oldfield dealt with brillantly, one in particular were the Allsop players cheered before Neil tipped it over the bar. A lovely pass down the right by Lea released Devlin who cut inside and passed to McMillan on his Couer debut, with the team all thinking he was going to shoot and score on his debut he selflessly hit it against the keepers hands knowing he would parry it into Pimbleys path to slot into an empty net. Next came the goal of the game in which Pimbley cut in from the left hand side before powering home in the bottom left hand corner, a fantastic finish which seemed kill any spirit Alsop had left. From then on the score could have been in double figures as Hayles and Cavendish supported Devlin, McMillan and Pimbley up front. This resulted in Devlin bagging another two goals taken well like his first. From a solid first half performance Alsop imploded but credit has to be given to the team for the play and dogged character when the first 30 minutes werent going as well. A great start for the Couer lets hope it continues
