Close one between Andy Rannard and Gary the keeper, but Gary gets it for me as it could have been 7 or 8 without his brilliance

A poor performance from 7 out of our 11 players (I was one of the 7) saw a 4 - 0 defeat to a much fitter St Allys team.

They started off brightly and we didn't really manage to keep up with them throughout the game. We improved slightly in the 2nd half and at least tried to pass the ball on the floor, but unfortunatley the final ball was always wayward or short. They were 2 - 0 up at half time, only to score 2 fairly late goals in the 2nd half. A dreadful decision in the first half by the ref (who was average at best), halted a great run by Mick Roach who was one on one with the keeper to claim he was offside. The ref at the time was just outside our penalty box when he blew his whistle! Our players and lads on the line went ballistic... That may have changed the game and may have give us some confidence, but ultimately this is why they came 2nd in the 1st divison last year.

They are a very well organised team, who passed and moved and talked all the way through the match. They did deserve the win and we have to take the few positives we could. Andy Rannard and Gary the keeper were awesome throughout. The 2 Micks up front ran tirelessly and held the ball up really well, but the rest of us didn't do enough to help them out. Myself and the majortiy of others need to think quicker, run quicker, pass better and listen to others around them, if we are to get anywhere near the top 6 this season.

It also helps if we act as grown ups and don't 'sulk' if the pass we want doesn't get there. Hanging your head and not trying for approx 7 seconds while the dummy is spat out and had a bit of a cry does not help anyone. Unfortunately there were 2 of 3 of us doing it during this game. This has to STOP straight away. Get on with the game and win the ball back and start another attack!!
