Couer started off well playing some neat controlled football and took a deserved lead after 10 mins when a good move released Mike Roach who calmly slotted past the keeper. Within 5 minutes Coeur extended their lead after Mike Kennedy was brought down in the area. Roach stepped up to score from the resulting penalty, his 25th of the season. With the game in their total control Sacre Coeur relaxed and allowed Shakespeare back into the game. Coeur failed to clear their lines and a Shakespeare pulled one back. A nervous last 15 minutes to the half saw Shakespeare hit the post and Couer had to thank keeper Paul Flanagan for pulling of a good save from a free kick to remain in the lead at half time.
Half time 2-1.
Coeur upped their game in the second half and hit the bar and post on no fewer than 4 times in the 2nd half. The third coming from a speculative Andy Rannard shot that the keeper seemed to have collected easily bt squirmed out of his grasp to give Rannard his first goal in Vets football. Bouyed by his goal Rannard attempted another shot but only managed to kick the ground and plough a trench in the pitch, highly amusing. The fourth goal came from a good run by Dave Lloyd who's shot hit the post Ian Dee following up to score from the rebound form close range. Overall a good team performance with all contributing to a good victory after 5 weeks without a game.
