Coeur set off for their match against Wavertree side Heygreen again shorn of players. This week 13 were available, but the subs bench consisted of Neil Shelley and Si Furlong who had roughly 12 minutes of outfield playing time under their belts in the last 18 months. This ensured that the 11 lads who were starting, were fitted into some sort of formation as best as possible.
The first half saw Coeur defend well as Heygreen had the majority of possesion. Despite being on the back foot for most of the half, Coeur had a few half chances through Wes and Chris up front. Degsy got a whack in the ribs and struggled through the game despite being far from mobile. The match reached half time goaless without either side having seriously troubled the keeper.

The second half continued in a similar vein with Coeur defending stoutly, yet looking more threatening on the break. Wes and Chris were both on the end of several cynical challenges from an old school centre half. One particular incident saw both Chris and Wes clattered within a split second of each other. A free kick was awarded 25 yards from goal. Kenni and Degsy both stood over the ball giving the keeper plenty to think about. Degsy took two paces forward and whipped the free kick up over the wall before it dipped quickly and nestled into the bottom left hand corner of the game. Coeur were ecstatic taking the lead after defending so stoutly for the previous hour.
Heygreen continued their forrays forward introducing 3 subs from the bench, where incidentally they had no fewer than 6 lads fully kitted out. The pressure eventually told as they were denied again by a brilliant save only for the rebound to be tucked away. A second followed within minutes and Coeurs spirit was broken. With 15 minutes to go both John Grego and Mick McLoughlin were withdrawn through injury, seeing both Shelley and Furlong introduced from the bench. Heygreen added a third with a close range header to effectively end the game. Coeur pushed forward but both Wes and Chris were flattened by appaling tackles from the centre half, who still seemed agrieved over a previous hard tackle from Rob Hatton and Gibbo. Unfortunately Chris had to leave the pitch leaving Coeur with 10 players for the last 5 minutes. Coeur final attacking forray saw Si Furlong win a challenge and nutmeg a second defender who was furious enough to charge back and block the cross for a corner.
