REMYCA 5 v 4 Sacre Coeur

Unlucky today lads

After arriving a the match with just five minutes left of the first half and being told we were 3-1 down I wondered just how good REMYCA are.
Well by all accounts we were 3-0 down before we got started and John Carra pulled one back 3-1.
John Carra scored again after some good neat football through the middle. 3-2. Robin Noddy Miles brought us level after a good ball over the top found him through on goal and a neat lob passed the keeper saw the ball nestle in the corner. 3-3.

There was me thinking that I was some lucky charm.

H-T 3-3.

Despite missing some influential players (namely two midfielders, a centre half and a striker) we still took the game to REMYCA who constantly relied on the long ball forward to their big and powerful striker.
A good move down the left involving Mick Carra found Cherry twenty yards out who unleashed a 'thunderbolt' which flew into the net off the underside of the bar. 4-3.
Again, with me thinking I was a lucky charm - it all went 'pete tong'. With constant bombardment from long balls the defence tried to hold firm but as Coeur's 'ever attacking' and skillful midfield tired allowing the defence to come under more pressure we finally buckled a succumbed to two REMYCA goals.

Final Score 5-4.

Gutted !!

However, we should take 'heart' in the result and the way we played as I beleive that REMYCA will be up there at the end of the season and if we can stay on their coat tails we won't go far wrong.

Slipped down to 8th place in the league after todays defeat - but only 2 points off second place.
Ironically, if we had beaten REMYCA today we would have been joint top with them.

It's a fine line .......
