BRNESC 2 v 2 Sacre Coeur

I suppose we should be happy with a point against a side that came down from the Prem league.
... and then considering we were 2 nil down after 13 mins.
Typical midweek game, lads rushing to get there for kick off, difficult to get your head on the game, not enough warming up and team bonding prior to the match. (sound like excuses i'm making)...... crap weather, big pitch, zippy surface, few players injured and missing (okay maybe they are).
In my humble opinion, with a full strength side on a saturday we would have gained three points.

BRNESC started off well making full advantage of the big wide pitch playing some decent attacking football and took advantage of a slight hesitant moment at the back to leave Dave the Goalie stranded and finish for one nil.
The second came as Coeur found themselves outnumbered at the back post for a cross which was headed back across goal and turned in by an unmarked attacker.
Coeur battled well and gradually got themselves into the game with some neat link up play from the midfield to the attack. Resolute defending kept BRNESC at bay. A good move through the middle of the park sent Ginger away to record his first of the season with a definitive 'slot' past the keeper. 2-1.

Coeur stepped it up a gear in the second half and produced some good attacking football of their own frustrating BRNESC who resorted to some rather 'silly sausage' tackles earning themselves a few of the referees yellow cards. The attempted punch (alleged) on a Sacre Coeur player went unpunished though.
Adam Spelman, up for a free kick was manhandled (ooer missus) in the box and the referee awarded a spot kick, much to the delight and agreement of the BRNESC players and line (not) - and they flippin well told the man in black what they damn well thought.
Anyway, Adam brushed himself down to step up to take the kick and struck it well enough but the keeper parried it out to the onrushing Kingy to drill home the equaliser.
Coeur got on top of the game but couldn't produce a winner and were fortunate near the end as a curling cross eluded everybody and struck the post.

Like I said, I suppose a draw was a good result, all things considered.
