After a lacklustre friendly on Saturday against Ercanil, a friendly was quickly arranged with Alsop, who Coeur have had many a battle with over the last few years. Again Coeur were missing a few key personnel, but it gave Si an opportunity to try out a few different combinations and it worked well as Coeur produced a solid performance to comfortably defeat Alsop 6 - 0.
New signing Chris Trow opened the scoring for Coeur after a sumptious 40 yard ball by Craig Burns freed him to lob over the keeper. Whilst Coeur were rarely troubled the back they failed to extend their lead in the first half, despite some neat football.
Half Time 1 - 0
Second half saw a reinvigourated Coeur turn up the heat on Alsop with some slick passing and great breaks. Degsy scored the second, finishing well in the bottom corner after great play between Chris, Craig and himself. Chris then added a third, driving from halfway and past the defenders before finishing calmly. The forth was soon to follow as Chris again finished well after been fed in by Degsy. Two more goals were added before full time, Rob Phil produced a great cross from the left, that was headed by Gav Scott into the path of Mally Harper who beat the keeper to the ball before tapping in from close range. Chris Trow also got his fourth before the end, with a fantastic curling finish over the head of the helpless Alsop keeper.
Full Time 6 - 0
A good performance, that will need to be bettered to ensure that Alumni have a tough start to their season on Saturday.
