Another report from 'Mr Chairman'
Coeur didn't really get going in the first half but battled well against the wind. Essemay took the lead after a very rare mistake at the back. 0-1. Dave Moran made a crucial save to keep the score down during the first half.
The second half was a different story. Coeur pressing on right from the whistle. Midway through the second half Xabi Adam Alonso Spelman struck a sweet half volley from his own half into the top corner beating the keeper all the way.
Okay it didn't hit the top corner or beat the keeper all the way but it was from his own half. The keeper misjudging the ball palmed it into the side of the net. 1-1.
Not long after, Duncan turned his man 25 yards out and because he couldn't be ar*ed running any more cracked a shot into the net which the keeper waved on by. 2-1.
Sacre Coeur were on a roll and pressed forward at every opportunity.
Cherry went agonisingly close when he met a cross field pass only to see his well placed shot come back off the inside of the post and run across the goal.
Credit again must go to the back four who had another well marshalled game (apart from the one blip).
Also, a lot of credit should go to the centre midfield pairing of Lee Owens and Pete Spelman who 'bossed' the midfield in the second half (In my opinion).
